My favorite blog was Larry Ferlazzo's Websites of the Day. It provided great websites with great resources for teachers. He breaks down the websites and gives information on how to use them. I really enjoyed reading most of his blog posts.

My favorite post was called More on Adjectives. It gave creative ways to teach adjectives and gave websites for extra resources. There were several adjective games students could play to learn more about adjectives. I used this in my class with my students.

Digital Citizen project

Why is it important to be a good digital citizen?

-It is important because it shows that you respect others privacy and boundaries. If you don't show good digital citizenship, then it can cause you to have backlash with friends and others on social media sites. Also, you can get into trouble for plagarism.

What value does a good digital reputation have?

-It has great value. If your digital reputation is ruined, then your business can fail and it can ruin your personal life.

Thinkport.com

I found this website to be very helpful and useful. The first simulation I found was Technology and Teaching. It offers many difference resources and lesson plans for including technology in your lessons and how to get students involved with technology. I also found Awesome Libraries. It offers different websites for all content areas along with lesson plans and games to use with the lesson.

I would use these and many other resources I found on thinkport in my classroom. I would use them when planning my lessons and use what I found to help my students. I would also use the games found as extra practice during center time.

Web 2.0 assignment

I felt that the resources I used very great! The animoto website is awesome and I will definitely use it again. I felt that Glogging was a more advanced version of blogging. It gave you more freedom of choice in your post and allowed you to make it more creative.

Software Reviews

The following websites were reviewed.
http://www.evalutech.sreb.org/
www.clrn.org/home/
http://www.superkids.com/
http://www.educationworld.com/

As I reviewed these websites, I found that all had reviews of software, games, and literature articles published by site visitors. CLRN had the most titles listed. Superkids was the most updated. It was updated on August 30,2011. Also, Superkids would be a great website to use for software for students and to find out more information for the software.

Introduction

I am Savannah Kirby. I live in Flat Rock, Alabama with my husband and two dogs. We have been married a year and a half and are expecting our first child on November, 21, 2011. We are super excited it is a girl! I am a Special Education teacher at North Sand Mountain High School in Higdon, Alabama. I work with students from Kindergarten to sixth grade. This is my third year teaching and I love it. I also have a Elementary Education degree. I am pursuing my Masters in 7-12 Special Education because I love working with these students and it broadens my availability. I love to read, go to church where I direct the children’s drama team, and support my husband who coaches high school football. I love teaching and the opportunity it gives me to touch lives. It is my calling from the Lord I truly believe.
